Mental Wellness Case Worker 

 

Overview of the Mental Wellness Case Worker: 

The primary mission of the Mental Wellness Case Worker is to ensure there is reliable guidance, consultation, and intervention available to monthly meetings, quarterly meetings, other local Quaker communities, and to PYM staff while running PYM programs. The Case Worker operates in concert with the Friends Counseling Service (FCS) Counselors and reports to the FCS Coordinator.  

 

Hourly rate: $30 - $40/10-15 hours per month

Case Worker Duties:  

  • Respond as needed to acute mental health issues in monthly meetings, quarterly meetings, and other local Quaker communities that require a professional level of guidance 
  • Work with the FCS Coordinator to ensure there is someone (the case worker or another clinician) on call during PYM events to provide necessary, professional consultation.  
  • Respond as needed to requests for guidance from PYM staff in the course of their work with community members in various configurations.  

 

Requirements: 

  • Experience with clinical counseling through education or as a profession 
  • Possess clinical credentials (such as MSW, PhD or PsyD) and is licensed to provide clinical therapy.  
  • Extensive experience with the Quaker faith and spirituality 
  • Pass a background check 
  • Ability to communicate in writing and verbally  
  • Commitment to PYM vision to become an anti-racist organization with a multiracial community of staff and constituents. Demonstrated understanding of the role that racial inequity plays in our society and an ability to effectively manage across difference. 

 

Accountability and review: This is a consultant position, paid on an hourly basis and is expected to devote no more than 10 to 15 hours per month on average. The hourly rate is set as part of the contract negotiation.  

 

The primary contact for the Mental Wellness Case Worker is the Friends Counseling Service Coordinator. The consultant is required to submit a detailed report on their activities on a monthly basis to Friends Counseling Service Coordinator and to the Associate Secretary for Program and Religious Life.
